heey everyone, i'm Selina-Mei (but usually just Selina).
I'm 14 years old and live in the UK.

So why am I on deviantart? Simply because I have a passion for art - which i've had since I was about 2 years old when my Dad used to sit at the table with me and draw little rabbit doodles - which I would colour in. Ever since then to this day I've loved art and its all I seem to want to do for my future. Hopefully it will stay that way.

The price I must pay for my art...

hmm so my homework assignment.. self portrait in a 3/4 position..

Ofcourse I can never stand to do things just "normally" so I've decided to draw myself with an apple in one hand and drawing the drawing in another hand..

But this comes at a price

I set up my little mirror on my coffee table beside the window ^_^ and then I put my little lamp beside me so it creates a good variety of tones on my face and I start drawing..

At first its fine.. then my legs start to hurt from kneeling, so I have to sit cross legged.. but then this is an awkward position to draw in.. hmm anyway..
Then my back starts to hurt .. ofcourse there's no where to lean apart from the corner of my bed, which just makes it hurt more, but anyway, i'm still determined to carry on

After a while of holding an apple I get a bit hungry so I bite it.. then realise what I have done, but THEN realise it actually looks better this way.. so once again I continuee.. (Not the end of my problems! :L)

Soon after, my mouth starts to water because of the daaaaarrn thing.. but I try my best to ignore it.. (Not a good idea) as the druel starts slowly dripping down.. ewww (which I didn't notice until I realised my lovely top was stained )

AFTER that, my apple starts to go a yucky brown colour (as they do when you bite into them), but nevertheless I have to put it in my mouth to draw! EWWEEYY, oh well.. :/

So its safe to say the main sketching part of my drawing is done, still gotta paint it tomorrow and give it on on Monday! YIKES.. wish me luck..

So yea, those are all the bad things that have happened so far, but they havn't stopped me folks Just thought i'd give you all a little story haah anywayy..back to reality

Well, I'm not exactly the best lol but sure

My main advice would be to just keep practising. Your work is very good but your proportions could always use work. I'd give the tips here a look: [link] (You may know how to do that already). Drawing from life, especially the human figure is easily the best way to learn and improve. If you can draw a human body perfectly, you can draw anything. Hope that helps.
